👗 Dance Attire Policy

Proper attire helps dancers move safely, learn technique, and perform their best.

General Guidelines:

  • Wear clothing that allows full range of motion (leotards, tights, leggings, fitted shorts, or dance pants).

  • Avoid loose or baggy clothing that can interfere with movement or distract instructors.

Ballet

  • leotard, tights, ballet skirt

  • pink or black ballet slippers, pointe shoes(only during pointe class)

  • hair pulled back into a bun or ponytail

Combination Classes

  • leotards with attached skirts or shorts

  • leotards with leggings

  • tights

  • ballet shoes, tap shoes, jazz shoes(if applicable)

  • hair pulled back away from face in bun, ponytail or braid

Jazz/Contemporary/Lyrical

  • leotard with dance shorts or leggings

  • tight fitting activewear

  • dance shorts with tight fitting top, halter top, crop top, sports top

  • jazz shoes, lyrical shoes, barefeet

  • hair pulled back from face

Hip Hop

  • dance shorts, sweatpants, leggings, activewear. No street clothes, something you can move in.

  • tshirt, crop top, activewear top

  • sneakers

Footwear:

  • Ballet: pink or black slippers; hair secured away from face

  • Tap: tap shoes (no socks as substitute)

  • Jazz/Contemporary: jazz or lyrical shoes, or barefoot as instructed

  • Hip Hop: clean, non-marking sneakers

Hair & Accessories:

  • Hair must be secured off the face (bun, ponytail, braid)

  • Large jewelry or accessories that could pose a safety risk are not allowed

Special Notes:

  • Teachers may provide additional attire guidance for performances, recitals, or competitions
